Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information NoteSphere uses to run its student-focused notes and learning website, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Effective October 24, 2026

Who runs NoteSphere

NoteSphere is an independent educational project maintained by students, not a formal organization or registered charity. Questions about this policy can be sent to support.notesphere@gmail.com.

Information we use

  • Account details: information you provide when registering or editing your profile, such as name, email, password credentials, and optionally university or college.
  • Learning content and activity: note and blog submissions, comments, likes, saved items, downloads, and related timestamps.
  • Security and authentication activity: up to the 10 most recent successful sign-ins, plus login attempts and password-reset activity, including the submitted email, result, time, and basic browser/device categories. IP addresses are stored only as a keyed hash, not as the raw address. Passwords and password-reset tokens are never included in these activity records.
  • Messages and subscriptions: details you submit in contact forms or newsletter forms. A new newsletter email may require a one-time verification code.
  • Cookie choices: essential session state and your optional advertising-consent choice. See the Cookie Policy.
  • Contributions: amount, currency, payment/order identifiers, payment method when provided by Razorpay, status and completion time, the page where checkout started, and (if signed in) your account and name/email at checkout. Guests may optionally provide a name and email. Razorpay processes payment credentials; NoteSphere does not receive or store your card, UPI PIN, or banking password.

How information is used

We use it to operate accounts, display and moderate educational content, provide search and download features, respond to requests, send requested verification or service emails, remember preferences, protect the service from abuse, and confirm voluntary contributions.

Public content and service providers

Notes, comments, and profile details you choose to publish may be visible to other visitors. Notes currently link to externally hosted files; opening those links takes you to the external provider and its privacy practices. We use service providers for hosting, database, email, CAPTCHA, advertising (only where enabled and permitted by your choice), and payment processing. They receive only information needed to provide their services and handle it under their own policies.

Cookies and advertising

Essential session cookies support sign-in and security. The site stores your cookie preference in this browser. Optional advertising scripts are enabled only after you accept advertising cookies. You can change your selection using “Cookie choices” in the footer; further details are in the Cookie Policy.

Retention and your choices

Login history is limited to the latest 10 entries. Other account, content, message, download, and transaction records are retained as needed to provide the service, maintain safety, meet legal requirements, or resolve disputes. You may request account or personal-data correction or deletion by emailing us. Public material and transaction records may need to be retained where required for legal, security, or accounting reasons.

Security and children

We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. NoteSphere is intended for students and general educational use; if you are under the age required to consent to online services where you live, use the site with a parent or guardian’s guidance.

Updates

We may update this policy as features change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are made.
